Welcome to the FamilyWorks Resource Center

The FamilyWorks Resource Center is a family support center where members of the community can gather together, meet neighbors, find and share information and resources, and have opportunities to participate in free classes, workshops, and events.

In the services that we provide, we support the growth and development of all family and community members.  We believe in community collaboration, creating trusting and responsive partnerships, and Guitar Playermaintaining respectful relationships.  We offer free classes and services for adults (life skills classes such as: computer tutoring, life coaching, employment advice, and parenting classes),  teen parent support groups, tutoring for school age children, and playgroups for children (birth to 5 years old) along with their parents. We encourage and rely on input and information from our community when choosing the programs and activities that we provide.   Underlying all we do here at FamilyWorks are the Family Support Principles

We also provide information and referral to community members--providing people with resources and connections to other agencies that can help meet their needs.  On Thursdays, a WIC nutritionist from the Seattle/King County Dept of Health is in the Resource Center providing appointments.  She can be reached at the North Seattle Public Health Dept (206-296-4765) to make an appointment.

A helpful source for community resources is

Because of our partnership with the local consignment stoGirl in Mexican Dressre (Kids on 45th) and the generous donations of community members, we are able to provide free, used clothes books and toys for young children.  They are sorted into bins and you may come and take what you need.

Hours of the Resource Center are:

Mondays       9:30-12:00

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays  9:30-5:00

Fridays         9:30-3:00

(In July and August the Resource Center closes early on Fridays--at 1:00)

To see what events/classes are currently being offered in the Resource Center, go to our bi-monthly calendar.
