For the last 20+ years, Food Lifeline has partnered with local post offices (and the Letter Carriers union) on a nationwide food drive called Stamp Out Hunger. USPS & Food Lifeline mail out a postcard and a bag to households in King County who are instructed to leave shelf-stable donations in/near their mailboxes. Mail carriers pick these up and bring them to the post office. This year, we can get all of the donations that come into the Wallingford post office! We are looking for volunteers to help us pack these donations up for transport to our food bank and possibly do a little sorting, if we have time. We will be holding this event at the Wallingford post office, not at the food bank. Last year from this drive, our neighborhood Wallingford Post office brought in just over 4,700lbs of shelf stable items!
