🎉 We Did It! 🎉

Dear FamilyWorks Community,

We have exciting news to share—thanks to the generosity and support of our community over the past two years, we have officially reached our Nourishing Communities Capital Campaign goal of $7M! This incredible milestone is a testament to the power of our community coming together to reach more families where they live, learn and grow.

Just a few years ago, this level of fundraising felt unimaginable for our small but mighty nonprofit. But because of our amazing community of staff, participants, donors, funders, volunteers, and partners, we have achieved something truly transformational.

Reaching this goal means FamilyWorks will be here for the long haul, better equipped to support our neighbors as needs grow. This campaign allowed us to invest in lasting infrastructure and capacity to serve our community for many years to come, ensuring more fresh, culturally-relevant food for families, expanded resource connections, and a stronger safety net for those who need it most.

We didn’t wait to meet our campaign goal before putting your donations to work — we’ve already made significant investments, including:

✅ Opening our new Family Resource Center in September 2023

✅ Launching our Online Grocery Market in January 2024

✅ Adding an Employee Assistance Program in May 2024, and increasing our employee pension contribution from 2% to 3% in 2025

✅ Adding a new Director of Programs position in December 2024

✅ Expanding our school-based resource centers from two to four public schools in January 2025

✅ Raising the minimum wage for our staff to $30/hr in 2025 in response to decades of underinvestment in nonprofits and low wages

✅ Building out a second Mobile Food Pantry that will hit the road this spring to expanded locations across North Seattle

✅ Partnering with BRIDGE Housing and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church to bring our stabilizing family support programs to residents of a new affordable housing community in Ballard which will open later this fall

And we’re not stopping there! As we move forward with key campaign goals, including the renovation and expansion of the Wallingford Food Bank later this year, we’ll continue sharing updates on the impact of your investment and the lives you are helping to change.

I want to extend our deepest gratitude not only to our supporters, but also to our Nourishing Communities Campaign Committee, whose leadership and dedication made this achievement possible. This was a true community effort, and we are so grateful to every single person who played a role in getting us here.

Your contributions are already making a lasting impact, and we cannot thank you enough. We are so grateful to have you as part of this journey. Thank you for being a champion for families furthest from justice and investing in our vision to create a more vibrant, equitable community for us all.

With deep gratitude,

Marcia Wright-Soika
